Peace & Tranquillity
About Bardia Eco Lodge
Bardia Eco Lodge is an eco-friendly wildlife lodge located in a beautiful riverside setting in Bardia National Park in Nepal, remarkably close to the park entrance. We aim to provide an environmentally sympathetic and sustainable destination for tourists, which also benefits the local community.
The lodge has as negligible impact as possible on the land and ecosystem which it occupies, and we strive to use our gardens to help improve and extend wildlife biodiversity in the area. The lodge offers a variety of comfortable lodging choices for travellers, and a design that is both functional and tasteful.
Activities
There are a wide variety of ways to explore the park, allowing you to target different animals and birds in different areas. Our guide will discuss recent sightings with you and your own personal interests, and tailor your visits into the park around these.
Layout & Facilities
Bardia Eco Lodge consists of 10 cottages with bathroom and private balcony for each room. It has a living/dining area where one of the most beautiful places in the lodge is, our balcony with a breath-taking view over the river.
Food & Drink
At Eco Lodge, we give priority to typical Nepalese and Asiatic cuisine, so that you can feel the local customs in your stay with us. Our cook uses locally grown and produced vegetables for his cooking, which makes the food even more special and unique.
Eco Features
Our lodge has solar energy, solar water heating, with proper composting toilets, eco-friendly building materials, limited use of concrete as much as possible and even the use thatch from the annual park hut.
Construction
For the construction of our lodge, we tried to be as ecological as possible, always bearing in mind sustainability. The wood used for the houses was from old, abandoned houses bought from local villagers, no new cut wood and mud bricks from the village.
Our Team
Bardia EcoLodge is first and foremost about Nepal; its culture, its people and its magnificence. In Nepal, all of your logistics are taken care of by Narayan Aryal, our Nepalese partner. Under his guidance, the EcoLodge is managed to the high standards we have set ourselves.
Around the Lodge
Bardia Eco Lodge is located around 500 metres from the entrance to Bardia National Park, and sits directly facing a branch of the Girwa River, with the park on the opposite bank. Due to the proximity of the park and the river, a lot of wildlife can be spotted from the grounds.
How to Get to Bardia
