Changeable Hawk Eagle Bardia National Park

Birdlife

There are 407 species of birds, including the Bengal florican, white vulture, peacock, and bar-headed geese, which are symbols of the park. Lesser florican, silver-eared mesia, hornbills, eagles, peacocks, bee-eaters, water birds and crane Sarus have also been sighted.

The ideal time to see distinct species of birds in Bardia is in November or from February to April, because that is when birds migrate.

For the bird lovers the best way to spot varied species is through the rafting trip, where you can be close to many different habitats and close to the river where the birds appear frequently. It is possible to request binoculars at the accommodation, but whenever possible bring yours in case they are not available.
